Completely unknown friends

Something unusual has recently happened to me involving Game Center. I'm not sure if I've posted this in the right place, but hopefully I have.

So: The strange thing in question happened on Temple Run 2, when I accidentally pressed the 'vs' button that allows you to play with friends. I have 5 listed friends, none of which I've ever heard of. I go back to settings and delete all of my Game Center friends, but when I go back they're still there. I delete the app and re download it, but they're still there. They don't show up in any other game, though I'm not quite sure if they're supposed to, but I don't know them and have not recieved any messages. I've currently deleted the app, but I can redownload it if need be: I just want to clear them off my friends window and find out how they got there, considering the fact that I've never received any invites. In summary:

5 uninvited, unknown friends

Only on Temple Run 2

Unable to delete them with the standard 'delete Game Center friends' button

Remained even after a restart of the app

Will I have to delete my Game Center account in order to clear them? I don't want them to show up in the 'vs' challenge screen again. Is there something I'm missing? I don't know exactly what's going on here and I would like some help. I can upload a photo of that would help.
