late,2014,27 inch,iMac,unexpectedly,going,to,sleep

System Specs:-

iMac Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2014

Operating System - macOS Sierra v10.12.6

Processor - 4 GHz Intel Core i7

Memory - 32 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

Graphics - AMD Radeon R9 M295X 4096 MB

Bought - 17/04/2015

Over the last month or so, the computer has started to go to sleep unexpectedly and at random, even when I'm working on the computer and without a "sleep" request.

I have a temperature monitoring app running in the background and all temperatures seem to be within limits when this happens.

Once the "sleep" process completes the computer can be "re-woken" by the normal methods.

There seems to be no rhyme or reason to the frequency of this problem. Some days it never happens at all, on other days it may happen once, or multiple times ... Sometimes it may happen multiple times within a short period of time.

Any and all suggestions to rectify this problem will be greatly appreciated.

p.s. I have the AppleCare Protection Plan for iMac which will run out in April 2018.

Resetting SMC could solve the problem.
