Sierra going to sleep & logging off during ...

Hello guys I have:

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch,Early 2015), macOS Sierra (10.12)

During the downloads the MacbookPro goes to sleep (shuts down display and prompts to log in again). This stops the download until you wake up the display and log in again.
This happens during regular downloads:

1. Anything that requires longer than standard 10min (before display turns off)

2. Steam downloads

3. EVEN APPLES OWN OS UPDATES! (yes for example I just got notification that 1.5gb update for Sierra is available and will be downloaded in 1.5hr). But it keeps locking and going to sleep even though the laptop is downloading UPDATES!

Did anyone else face/notice this problem?

try  doing updates in Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac - Apple Support

and maybe  in system preferences  > energy  saver >  for battery  and adapter set to never  for the  turn off display  and display  sleep to never

turn off put hard disks to sleep when possible

I did turn off "Put hard disc to sleep when possible" I also selected " Prevent computer from sleeping automatically once the display is off". It didn't work.

I don't remember what happens when I select "never turn display off". I will get back to you on that.
It makes sense to have option to "turn off display" (to preserve the display life and battery) and "turn off computer or self lock" (for security) separated. But for some reason there is no option to tell Macbook how long to wait before locking again.

This is nowhere close to being an answer.  Most of these settings aren't even available on Sierra.  Why has Apple crippled there OS so!?  This is my first Macbook, and I bought it last December.  The problem stated here is only one of my issues with OS X.  I tried to install Linux on it, and guess what???  Their proprietary great "touch bar" stopped that dead in it's tracks.  I will never buy another Macbook.  I  own a $3,000 paperweight.  Use my old Toshiba Satellite that I picked up at a pawn shop for $100 bucks, loaded with Ubuntu to do most of my day to day activities and server administration.  As I said, I won't get in this mess again.  Can't keep a computer awake when desired!?  Jesus Apple!?!?  *** are you thinking!?!?!?
