How to prevent JetDrive unmounting

I'm currently using a 128GB Transcend JetDrive in my MacBook Pro 11,1 and I have an installation of Windows 7 on there using VirtualBox. Now, my issue is that whenever the MacBook tries to go into sleep mode it automatically unmounts the JetDrive, killing the Win7 VM. The screen only needs to dim for an instant, but after waking it up with the mouse or a key press it has already killed the VM. I've disabled all of the power save features of the MacBook and the settings in windows, yet after a period of time it still tries to sleep.
(As a separate issue, I've even tried using the 'caffeinate' command in terminal to keep the MacBook awake while doing long downloads or something but it will still eventually sleep, I imagine it is a means of not burning out the display or something).

So I've given up trying to prevent the MacBook sleeping, I would just like to stop the drive dismounting if possible, keeping the Windows VM alive even if the screen turns off.
