Is there an official APPLE reason why there is ...

I've seen a lot of discussions about this topic, but nothing officially from apple.

(note: I had a longer post but my page refreshed and I lost it. I'll add more when at a keyboard. )

Apple will not present their reason for doing anything on these forums. As has been said many many times, there are equivalent or better alternative apps readily available.

With iOS 6 on wednesday there should be a Clock app (iOS 6 is compatible with the iPad 2 and iPad 3) - it's now listed as one of the built-in apps for the iPad here. And no, as far as I am aware they have never said why they weren't included

Personally, I don't want to sort through 2200+ iPad clock apps to find a replacement for one one that is fully integrated, that I know how to operate, and that I trusted. Two different apps that I thought would work had major FAILURES .

 

Its like getting a new car, but they left off the carpeting, seat covers and cup holders.  The car works, it gets great gas mileage, but I'm riding around in a tin can, sitting on foam rubber with a hot cup of McDonalds coffee between my knees.

 

I found the Apple Apps part of the ApStore today and though I'd find it there.  No dice.

 

Heck, I'd even pay for the official clock app!

And KingPinguine, thanks for the happy note.  It will greatly please my wife (who has an iPad 3) but Im using a iPad 1 that I resurected from 3 broken ipads. 

So, my question stands, has Apple put out an official answer to why these apps are not present.
(and yes Tonefox, I know they wouldn't do it here, but I'm asking the community if anyone has seen one and could point me to that it.)

As I said as far as I am aware they have not said why they have not been included up to this point - companies usually give info about what is included, not what isn't.

what's the reason why there is no calculator and clock on the iPad.  The End User is always the paying  more for software license on iPhone than on iPad?
