Why 2 copies of some songs?

When i look at my music library on my iPod touch there are some songs for which there are 2 copies listed. One entry has a cloud beside it and the other not. If I'm on wifi this means that it plays each song twice.

My question is - how did this happen? ...and how do I get rid of one copy of each song?

I think this may be for songs I have downloaded direct to iPod from the itunes store and later synched the ipod with itunes on my PC?
