Getting booted out making an iBook

I am trying to make an iBook and every time I enter the text below the photo, no sooner do I start typing do I get booted out of Photos. This is so aggravating. I am running MacOS Sierra on a MacBook Pro. (all versions up to date)

I didn't have this issue during the first 30 pages of the book, although once in a while I might have been booted out but not at this rate. This morning I think it happened about 10 times on 1 page. I won't finish the book in time as it is a gift. Any ideas on what is going on? Thanks. Gisele
