will there be an update to the apple pencil?

Before I buy the existing pencil what is the likelyhood of an update?

Apple Pencil ONLY works with iPad Pro models.

No one knows if Apple will update the hardware of the Apple Pencil, but they have issued firmware updates for the Apple Pencil that get downloaded into the iPad and then installed/transmitted to the Apple Pencil when connected for charging through the iPad Pro's lightning connector.

There had been rumours of a new Apple Pencil  that would have been released during  the WWDC 2017 in June, but instead Apple decided to bring software updates to the pencil. which means, its likely that there wont be a new Apple pencils  this year, there could be a release of a new one next year alongside the iPad refresh. But instead there will be software updates. So I recommend buying the current Apple Pencil instead of waiting foe a possible chance of one next year.
