High CPU Kernel

Macbook Pro 15" Mid-2012

Computer would run really slow and the hard drive speed test were really slow.

So put in brand New Hard Drive and new Crucial 16GB of RAM and did a fresh install of Mountain Lion from the Internet Recovery Utility and then upgraded to Sierra.

Battery also said it needed to be replaced, so got a replacement off of Amazon.

Computer still ran really slow. Did a hardware test and it came back saying the battery isn't recognized, most likely cause it's third party. But, OS did show battery percentage and would charge it.

Finally found that when everything was running slow the Activity Monitor showed Kernel_Task running between 400-700%. iStat Nano said the temps were normal and the fans running around 2000rpm.

Reset NVRAM and SCM to no avail.

Opened it back up and cleaned the fans out again and reset the SCM by disconnecting the battery and holding down the power button.

When it turned back on it now says that is no battery installed, the fans started running full speed, BUT Kernel_Task was running down around 15% and the computer was super responsive.

iStat Nano now showed though that there was "no fan sensor".

Contacted Amazon to return the battery and put the old "bad" one back in.

Started up, Battery shows "Replace Now", iStat showing fans running and normal speeds and temp low and Kernel_Task back over 400% and computer slow to respond.

So I'm assuming I need to get a "good" battery, probably from Apple, to resolve this issue?
Could it be any other sensor? or just likely the battery?
Anyway suggestions to test anything else?

Try to run Etrecheck and paste the result here.

As for the battery, check your battery with a utility, called Battery Health which is available at Mac App Store for free.
