well i got the problem of not able to reconise the iphone because of invalid respond and i want to upgrade the itunes but it thinks the newest version is 12.1.2 but its not the newest,so how do i upgrade it?

Where did you get the information that your iTunes thinks 12.1.2 is the latest version? Did you use Help/Check for Updates, which would have shown you a panel like this:

Using Help/About iTunes is not sufficient.

Apple Software Update can occasionally fail to detect that newer versions are available. Visit iTunes - Download iTunes Now - Apple and install the current version.

Your tag says you are running Windows 7, but is it possible you are actually running Windows XP?  That might explain it, otherwise see turingtest2's response.

i used help/check for updates and it just have this image you posted

well i will install the latest version from the website but i would like to ask if i install itunes again,will the things be gone such as the logged apple id,the data etc will be gone?
