How come that whenever I try to download an app...

So I tried downloading some apps that I have not purchased yet but when I press get, it keeps loading and loading and doesn’t want to download. I tried waiting for about 30 minutes and it still doesn’t want to load. I tried downloading apps that I already purchased and they download very quickly. I do not know if it has to do something about the settings or the phone.
