Using 2013 imac as a display for my windows 7 l...

I have a 2013 imac 27" and would like to use it as a monitor for my widows laptop? As my works laptop is tiny.

Thunderbolt 2 on the mac and hdmi and mini display port on the laptop.

Can this be done please?

not apart from wireless and using third party software

(wireless would mean impaired performance so games and maybe even movies would likely not be a good idea)

You can try connecting via ethernet and using Microsoft's

Remote Desktop for Mac, which is a bit more optomized

for use with Windows than other remote apps.

Ethernet will perform quite a bit better than WiFi, but still

won't be all that great, especially compared to a dedicated

monitor.

BTW, Thunderbolt iMacs can only screen share with other Thunderbolt

Macs.
