Pitfalls of removing iTunes?

Hello,

I've never used iTunes on my MBP and seriously doubt I ever would.  I don't watch movies, listen to audio files, or make videos.  The only content would probably be YouTube and TuneIn radio.  I'd prefer to free up the space and no longer see iTune update notices in the AppStore.  Are there any pitfalls I should be aware of by removing iTunes?  For instance, is it attached to other applications?  (I have also removed Garage Band, and other content creation apps that came with the MBP).
