usb-c on my MacBook 12" will charge but won't read any usb device plug in how to fix it ?

Have you tried a different cable? Some cables are charge only, no data transfer.

i have 3 different usb-c to usb adapter that works on my other MacBook 12"but not on my wife MacBook 12"

It was working before and 1 day it stop working  .Just the charging is working now

Are both MacBooks running the same version of macOS?

I have the Apple USB-C Digital A/V Multiport adapter that stopped letting me use a Western Digital USB hard drive for Time Machine backups.  My Belkin USB-C to USB adapter works fine with the same drive.  I don't know if that was due to a recent Sierra update or not.
