hard disk password failed after high sierra upg...

I upgraded my Mac from work to High Sierra. Now I could no longer log in.

It kept asking for hard disk password. I've entered my password but it does not recognised.

Apple should not release a OS that does not work out of the box. My primary concern is my data.

How can I resolve this? It also seems there is no longer any user registered to my Macbook Air.

Desperately need help!

I've use terminal to mount the drive and i can use my password to unlock the disk but that's it i cannot do anything else.
