Apple will only allow me to sign up for two
Apple will only allow me to sign up for two-factor authentication for Apple ID, not two-step verification. How do I get Apple to allow me to sign up for two-step verification instead. My Mac runs on Yosemite OS X 10.10.5. My understanding is that two-factor authentication is only available to macs with El Capitan OS X 10.11 or later. I want to use my flip phone with SMS text messaging which appears to only be available with two-step verification. Help!
Whew, have you tried this?

BBut what are the two steps in the verifaction?
Just looked at my Apple ID and that doesn't appear to be an option anymore.

The question was how to set up two-step verification correct But this reply explains how to turn off two-step verification and how to turn on two-factor authentication which is the exact opposite
So does anyone know how to set up the two-step verification
Thank you very much for taking the time to at least read this, even if you don't have the answer!

- Click the "Set up two-step verification now" link which is under the heading "How do I set up two-step verification?". It will take you to a login page to start the process.
