Missing emails in Mail, but not in Apple Search

I can find emails when searching using Apple's basic search function.

I click on them and they open in Mail. So they are in the V4 database.

But when I search for them from within Mail - I cannot find them.

I have rebuilt the mailboxes...

Any suggestions?

Sorry to waste your time. I had a backup of my mail folder elsewhere on my drive. Once I deleted it - search within or outside mail was identical.
