Finder cannot build thumbnails for many TIFF files

Thumbnail building for TIFFS does not work on my Macbook Pro running Sierra.

A few thumbnails built right away, but half of them are still not there after 10 minutes and will likely never build.

thumbnail building doesn't work even for files on my Macbook pro's ssd drive.

Adobe bridge builds thumbnails from TIFFs within three to give seconds for a flattened 120 mb file, finder cannot build many thumbnails at all.

Open a guest account and try a bunch .tiff(s) in the fresh environment, this will tell if it is isolated to your user account.
