My MacBook Pro with M. Lion and OS X is not tur...

My computer had a white screen and then the blinking folder began. 

I completed tasks using discussions here:

*hold R and COmmand

*get to disk utility

*repair disk (1st attempt said nothing needs repair and second time it found something to repair) "Partition Map has been repaired"

Then I followed another discussion cue to close disk untilty and restart my computer.  Did that and now it has a white screen again.  Then the blinking folder is back.  Now I have held the power button down until it went off.

Help me!!!
