My Facebook App keeps crashing

Since yesterday my facebook app won't open. When I click the app I will just go back to home screen again. I tried resetting and it didn't work. What to do? I'm using iPad 2 ios6.1

The facebook app is buggy at best. Have you tried the work around of using safari to access your facebook? I've found a better experience and more functionality there than with the app.

THere are also third party apps that you can use that may work better.

I've been having this exact same issue. Mine only started about three days ago. I'm a fairly heavy user of the Facebook mobile app, and have not had a problem until now. I have tried uninstalling, hard reset, logging out of my iOS Facebook login… Nothing seems to work. Using Safari is a week option.

1. Close all apps in the Task Bar. Double-click the Home button and hold apps down for a second or two. Tap the minus sign to close app.

2. Hold the Sleep and Home button down for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple Logo.

This does not work. It is not specific to my iDevice. It is not helped by uninstalling/reinstalling. Even the new Facebook 5.5 didn't work. The problem is specific to my Facebook account.  Here's why:

When I am logged into Facebook on my iPhone, it crashes. When my wife is logged onto Facebook using my phone, it works perfectly. When I am logged into Facebook using the app on my iPad, it crashes. When my wife is logged on to Facebook using the iPad, it does not crash.

It only happens in the comment feeds (pictures and posts), and occurs as soon as the status wheel stops rotating (signaling that page has finished loading).

I have left bug reports using Facebook's help section. I have sent them emails. There is nothing I can do, and it's driving me crazy!

I am having the EXACT same issue. Have you found a working solution yet?

i have the same issue, started after i updated to iOS 6.1.3 on my iPhone4S and my X iPad2, then on my iPad 4! and on any iOS device later!! my Facebook Account cuase the Facebook App to crash!!!!!! anyone else can log in from my iphone or iPad except me!!! i tried every thing! restarting, re-installing, Changing Facebook settings from desktop, security settings .. etc! I posted the problem on facebok forum, send 2 emails to facebook via help center .. nthn happened

If you have tried the other suggestions, delete the FaceBook app and redownload it. You will have to enter your FB username and password afterwards, but the data is on the FB servers, so you won't loose anything.

To delete it, press and hold on the app until it starts shivering and you get the red x on it. Touch the x for FB and agree to delete it. Then press the Home button to return to the normal screen.

I have had to do that a couple of times over the past couple of years to resolve various glitches that arose in the FB app.

I accidentally turned on the photo sync the other day and ever since then my iphone 4S has played up or more so the Facebook app was crashing everytime i went onto it within seconds i was kicked off back to the home screen it started playing up kept throwing me off and back to my home screen after numerous reboots n deleting and reinstalling app none of which worked i have since gone back into Facebook app and remembering back to what i had done decided to turn photo sync off just to see and hey presto no crash yipeeee:)

Go onto your own home page on Facebook app on your timeline hit photos scroll to the bottom and there is a sync button on the right tap that if you haven't synced your photos then it ain't that which is causing your problems but if you have syned them simply turn off the photo sync it's worked for me... hope it helps

I tried this but it didn't work

I've been having the same problems until... I uninstalled FB app from my iPhone. I access FB only from Safari now. It has fewer features than the app, but I don't have to suffer FB's poor quality and stability.

Until someone tells me different on their app, I don't think I will reinstall FB on my iOS.

I dont know how to give you the "points" on here, BUT THIS DID IT!!! I CANT BELIEVE IT WORKED BUT IT DID!!! THANKS MILLIONS OF TIMES OVER!!!

USE BALDRUS' SUGGESTION - IT WORKED!!!

Went to FB App My Timeline/Photos link.  Scrolled down.  Nothing there.  No Sync button.  Nothing.  This is on my iPad One. 

So, where is that button?

I am experiencing more and more crashes when I go to links from postings on my wall.  It is Sooo frustrating now that I have basically given up using my ipad for FB.  (Note, I just downloaded an update for FB on my iPad and, if anything, it made this problem worse.) 

I have to wonder why the FB app (and general usage) on my Kindle Fire is SO MUCH BETTER than on my iPad?!  FB (and all apps) are incredibly better on my new Samsung smart phone.  Is this FB fault or the diff operating systems? 

Since shortly after getting talked into buying the iPad at an Apple Store, it has been such a dud in so many ways I feel it was a HUGE, expensive mistake. 

Is this a typical situation or dd I buy a Lemon? 

Haven't been able to open my iPad FB app for a day or so. I was having problems with it closing off and on for about a week. It continued to get worse (i.e. took more tries to get it to stay open) until now not ever opening.  I had the problem and was still using iOS6, then updated yesterday to iOS7. Bad to worse. 

I've tried the hard-start holding down the buttons for 10 secs., I have checked all my settings, I tried to find the place to turn off "sync photos" in my FB settings, but cannot.   Is this a problem of memory?  My iCloud has available memory so I don't want to buy more if that's not even the cause of the FB problem. 

I hope someone can help.
