Macbook pro to Ipad Photo transfer

Hello,

I am going to be recycling my MacBook pro for an iPad. What is the best way to transfer photos from my MacBook to the iPad? I will not have the iPad and MacBook at the same time since I am going to send my MacBook back to get a gift card to buy the iPad.

One method if your Mac is running OS X 10.10.3 or later with Photos would be to turn on iCloud Photo Library: iCloud Photo Library - Apple Support

Another method would be via a 3rd party app such as https://photosync-app.com/
