High Sierra update

I am locked out of my Mac after attempting the High Sierra update.

I get a Box message telling me the update was unsuccessful, and to push restart, after which I have no control thru mouse or keyboard, my Mac then goes thru exactly the same sequence again and again taking around an hour plus each time.
