Download not stream an itunes movie

I have had this issue numerous times. Here's my path.

Buy a film in itunes.

Hit download. ( I want to watch it on my MacBook Pro in a location without wifi ).

Go to watch film.

Not there.

If I stream the film no problem. But want to download it onto my laptop.

The film image/ icon remains in 'Rented' showing the 'cloud' symbol but re-hitting it does nothing. Why?

I also have this issue when I buy a film. Sometimes it downloads. Mostly it doesn't.

Notes.

Plenty of available space on my laptop.

On the numerous occasions when this has happened I have hit the 'I have a problem' that comes with the receipt and apple have refunded my film rental money. However the problem remains.

I've also hit the 'check for available downloads' under the itunes account. No change.

How do I 'force' the film to download rather than stream?
