iTunes music that has been purchased is meant to be archived in the computer's iTunes library. That is the safe keeping method for your individual music. If you log into your Apple ID and check your purchases and do not see all of the music that you purchased/downloaded, it could very well be that the music is no longer available. This happens as copyright holders remove music from iTunes. This has nothing to do with Apple, however in the fine print when you purchase music in iTunes you are warned to transfer these purchases to your iTunes library since they may not always be available to download again. There is nothing that Apple can do about these copyright holders from removing their content from iTunes. If you did not archive them to your computer's iTunes library, there is no getting them back.
