Transfer purchased items from iPad to iTunes li...

When trying to update iPad software I get warning message  "There are purchased items on the iPad that have not been transferred to your iTunes library. You should transfer these items to your iTunes library before updating this iPad." How do I do that?

Right-click on your iPad under "Devices" on the left of the screen, and click "Transfer Purchases"

Thanks. However the Transfer Purchases option is greyed out.

In which case I would just go for it. If you find any app missing, you can always download it again.

I tried following these directions but I couldn't find Devices or my iPad on the left or right-click on it. I did find it though under File / Devices / Transfer purchase from ...
