Update

So I tried updating my MacBook Pro 2010 model and it got stuck at the final loading stage before being complete.  Left computer on days to try and let it load and it would not. Tried multiple startups and it would not load, so i finally gave up and decided to get the new 2017 MacBook Pro.  I then had to settle for a backup from May on my Seagate which was not too bad considering I have much more older content that is more important than the last 6 months.  I started setting up my new MacBook Pro and once again at the final stage of loading it freezes just like the old MacBook. Can someone please help me here?
