Major Service issues

Am I Alone?  I brought my 2014 27 inch iMac into the Kansas City Apple Store to have the base stand repaired.  I was charged for that repair which seems like a recall issue.  I was called the next day to let me know the hard drive was failing??  I've never had an issue with my hard drive.  I picked up the computer without getting the hard drive replaced and tried to boot the computer up and only got a hover vacuum sound.

does anyone have any statistics on number of failed 2014 27 inch iMacs have base failures inwhich they were able to discover a hard drive failure, and when booted up it sounds like a hover vacuum when these problems never existed prior to being repaired?
