How Do I Stop My Macbook From Being Shared or seen on a network?

I'm staying at a hotel with a common wifi, and suddenly on my "finder" tab I see several laptops under "Shared"! I didn't realize that my computer wants to share with others. I can't find any settings on my laptop which stop it from sharing, nor being seen by others.

How can I stop this? It's a bit freaky to suddenly see other people's computer showing up on my computer, which means I am showing up on theirs.
