No sounds coming from Roland SPD 30

Hi all,

Does anyone have experience with using the Roland SPD 30 octopad in Logic? I hooked the USB cable to my mac. In a new Logic project I powered on the octopad and got the message that the midi inputs were activated. I created a new software instrument track and chose Utitlity -->External Intrument-->Mono, and then chose from the Midi Destination  dropdown I chose "Roland SPD series. I start recording and hit the pads. The pads hits are recorded on the track but there is no sound generated. What do I need to do to hear the sound of the pads? Thanks!
