Apple Watch obsolescence question

Hello,

I have a question challenging the standard 5-year obsolescence for Apple products especially pertaining to the Apple Watch. I know that in a tech watch things can wear out, but at the time Apple entered the watch arena an individual bought a watch that would last say 10 years if it was a fancy watch and if it was an expensive watch a lifetime.

So my question is if one bought a gold watch or Hermes model would the watch be supported for more than the standard five years? Might as well add the Ceramic watch too. Premium watches should come with a longer life than standard watches since the expense is greater.

Thank you for reading and hope to hear from Apple.

Regards,

Mark

Hi

I'm afraid that no-one here can answer that question.

You are not talking to Apple here - this is a user-based technical support community.

You can leave feedback for Apple at https://apple.com/feedback/watch.html.

All I know is I bought the first generation Apple Watch, a stainless steel 42mm with the Milanese band. With AppleCare it cost me close to $800. If Apple stops support for it after 5 years I will be really, really angry. High end traditional mechanical watches are supported basically forever and can be repaired by a skilled craftsman. Rolex supports all of their watches no matter when they were built.
