Do I have a bot virus in my Mac

Recently I have this paranoid idea that I might have a bot virus. I would like to know if Macs can be infected with a bot virus, how can you tell if you have one and how you can remove it.

I thank everyone additionally for your help

No, you do not have a virus unless you installed something on your Mac from an unknown site. Download Malware Bytes if you want to scan your Mac for Adware or Malware: https://www.thesafemac.com/tech-guides/

Actually one time I visited a cinema website and it downloaded a PDF file. I didn't open it and then I scanned my Mac with bitdifender virus scanner and it said my computer was clean.Do bot viruses can be downloaded as a PDF file?

Thanks for replying!!!

What's a "bot virus"?

Given there are no Mac viruses, what's the point of Bitdefender?

The very fact that you have bitdefender tells us that you haven't done your homework properly.  The only 'virus' you probably have is bitdefender itself.   Suggest you remove it.

EtreCheck is a tool that helps Apple Support Community volunteers debug problems without any access to the troubled computers. Debugging problems can be a difficult task even when the machine is in front of you. Attempting it via a discussion forum is extremely difficult. EtreCheck is a great help that regards.
