deleting bookmarks after unsync from iCloud

Hey,

So I just installed the new software update (OS X Yosemite 10.10), and logged in with my apple account as to activate iCloud, which I actually did not want to do.

after I un-synced the iCloud devices, some information, primarily Safari bookmarks from the other devices were left on my macbook.

I have had troubles with iCloud in the past, and would just like to make sure that if I were to delete any previously synced information from my laptop or another device, it would not delete it from the original device that it came from?

i.e., if I delete bookmarks on my laptop (that were originally from my phone), they would not be deleted from the phone now that I unsynced, is this true?

Yes that is true. You need to delete the Bookmarks from an iCloud synced device, so when you delete any bookmarks, it gets deleted off iCloud as well. Since you have removed iCloud sync from your laptop, you need to manually remove it.

How do I get back the original bookmarks/favorites/reading list from before I synced it?
