apple watch series 3 cellular in Ireland

if i buy the apple watch series 3 cellular in the uk can i use it in ireland as a regular apple watch until the cellular capabilities are available in ireland in 2018?

You can certainly use a (GPS + Cellular) model in Ireland without enabling the cellular feature.
