Advance position in podcast in ios11

ios11 update hit my iPad today and the Podcast app has me stymied.

I download and hit play (from the "Library" window).

But I can no longer expand the details of the playing podcast.  This is now stuck in a little window in the bottom right corner of the screen and won't expand.

Thus I can no longer slide the playback position indicator to go back or forward.

Is there a setting I'm missing?  Or RTM someone can point me to?  (LOL!  Apple never publishes user guides!)

Hmmm...  On a whim I quit the app and launched it again.

Now the large player comes back with the slider for the playback position.   So Apple follows the Windoze model now.  Great.

There actually is a users guide that you can download through iBooks.  For iOS 11

Thanks!   I'll look for it right after I find the iBooks app on my iPad.   I know it's there somewhere!!!  The swipe-down from the top search mechanism seems to not work after ios11, either!
