Text Edit used to display a blank page on launc...

I use Text Edit often to temporarily store or strip text and copy/paste into perhaps an email as plain text.

In earlier versions, when you launched Text Edit it would display a blank new document. Now I get a Save/Open window and have to press Cmd + N to get a blank new document.

Is there a way to display a blank new document on launch? I didn't see anything in Text Edit Prefs.

Text Edit hasn’t used that behavior for a while.

Workaround:

Save a blank Text Edit document to Dock and use it as a scratch file.
