How do I Reset plays in Itunes 12.6

Hi, how do i reset the plays in Itunes 12.6?

Highlight the song you want to reset and right-click it - choose Get Info.  In the Details tab you'll see an option for Play Count.  You can then hit the reset button next to it.

Unfortunately, it seems you can only do this for one song at a time.

That's my problem I want to this with a lot of songs

You could do bulk play resets until the 12.6 version came out.  Resetting song by song also resets the date last played, which it never did before.  I've called Apple tech support and hopefully a newer version will come out with everything back the way it was.  Apparently someone feel asleep at the wheel or Apple figured we didn't need it.  A few updates ago they even left off "check for duplicates'.  Ugh.

See Re: Reset Plays no longer available?

Does Apple even beta test this stuff before unleashing it on an unsuspecting public? I've gone through this crap for years now, and am amazed at the number of brain dead morons who manage to con Apple into giving them employment, while irritating the customers who pay their wages. C'mon Apple, pick up your game. If you keep this up we will start looking at Microsoft with much kinder eyes. Getting this basic stuff right shouldn't be that hard. Every time I download a newer version of some program I'm relying on, I get a feeling of dread about all the problems I'm going to have to put up with, and the HOURS WASTED trying to figure out a work around. Not being able to re-set the number of plays in iTunes has been simple right from the start, why can't you keep this feature?

See Re: Reset Plays no longer available? for a workaround.

I tried your workaround and got errors. No worky on my El Capitan 10.11.6 Safari 12.6

Thanks anyway.

What errors? Will it work on a small selection? I'm running macOS Sierra, but as far as I know it is pretty basic AppleScript that should be OK.

Something about running an identifier in front of another identifier. I simply copied your script into the script editor and ran the debunker, and that's where I got the error. No worries, I got a fix from DougsScripts. Thanks

Sweet.

Any idea if I can do something similar on a PC?
