external Samsung dvd drive creates burn folder ...

Hi all - I've been trying to resolve this ongoing issue with Apple support for the past hour. It has been a disaster, and I'm about to go entirely off all Apple devices because the support they're providing today is so shockingly bad.

I use an external DVD writer with my MacbookAir. ;Have been using it for a few years, no problems.

However, in past few weeks, when I use it, it creates a "burn folder" on my laptop (the icon for this is not a folder but rather a disc). The "burn folder" becomes permanent on my desktop, even after everything has been done and disc ejected, that icon stays on my desktop, and my MBA won't restart nor power off bc the "burn folder" is busy.

I have tried absolutely everything to eject it. Apple Support guy told me it was bc it's not an Apple smart dvd drive or something.

It must be something with a recent OS update and the drive. Cannot find any updates to the Samsung drive, so maybe it's up to date? Anyone have this issue & how did you resolve it? Seem to be a flaw with Apple's OS.?

I use a Samsung Portable DVD Writer Model  SE-218.
