iOS 11 App store filter greyed out

Ipad 4 Mini 32GB, iOS 11.0.1

App Store Search will not allow filter (it is greyed out) unless at least one item found.  This makes it very difficult to find iPhone-only apps on the iPad.  For example, trying to find the app Elgas "Quick Smart Gas" app was very difficult - I had to search for "gas" then set the filter to "Supports iPhone only", then scroll until I found it.  Surely this is a bug in iOS 11 - it used to work fine in iOS 10.

It even worked in iOS 11. It’s this 11.0.1 update that broke this behavior.

Mine didn't work in iOS 11 either, was fine in iOS 10

It's worse than that ... I've discovered that the redesigned (iOS 11) app store no longer has the option of sorting comments by Oldest, Newest, etc., which in my mind makes looking through comments a waste of time.  It does me no good to read "popular" comments from 2+ years old if I'm looking to see if a NEW version of the app has introduced a problem I'm experiencin.
