WatchOS4 and the vanishing silent mode

So WatchOS4 is here. Great.

...except for switching to silent mode. The ‘bell’ icon is now off the bottom of the screen and where it was is now the find my phone beacon icon. So, in a meeting, instead of muting my watch I just created a further series of noises accompanied by some serious glares.

Why can‘t the icons on the control screen be configurable or at least consistent?
