Auto unlock was working between my Apple Watch ...

Auto unlock does not work.  I have unpaired and repaired my Apple watch.  I have undone and redone 2-factor authentication.  I have restarted my iMac (Sierra).  Nothing has worked How do I get auto unlock working again?

I have a series 2 Apple watch, and iPhone 7 Plus and a late 27", 2014, 5k iMac running Sierra.  All my software is up to date.  Please help.
