how do i add apps to a new device from itunes

Hi. My daughter has an iPod 5th Gen and has just got an iPhone. 

Her iPod has been backed up to iTunes (using 12.7)

She wants to select some of the apps, and games for the iPhone but not all of them. 

Is there a way to do this in iTunes or do we have to do a full restore from the iPod back up to the new phone and then delete the apps she doesn’t want from the iPhone.
