Why are DEP iPads showing in Meraki MDM as OS X...

I have used Apple School Manager to enrol new iPads (only iPads, no Macs) into Meraki MDM. They are automatically assigned to the Meraki server, which is the default. There are no other MDM servers listed.

The devices enrolled in School Manager without a problem. They auto-assigned, no problem. 30 devices were added. 30 devices show up in Meraki MDM, in the DEP section. 3 of those 30 devices are showing as 'OS X Device', rather than 'iPad'. When going through the setup on those 3 devices, the MDM profile fails to install every time. Only with those 3 devices, so I presume it's not a coincidence.

I have tried to resolve by removing them from Meraki in School Manager, carrying out a full sync in Meraki DEP and then adding them again. I have also updated the Meraki DEP token. No luck.

It's a free Meraki account, so I can't contact Meraki support. In School Manager the 3 devices do show up as iPads, so I assume it's a Meraki issue.

Any ideas?

Hi. Is there any difference in iOS versions that might confuse the Meraki server?

Or are they different devices, maybe new iPad Pros, or old iPad 1's?

Unfortunately, all devices are running latest iOS 10.3.3 and to make matters worse, all 30 devices are new and identical models and it's only happened 0n 3 out of 30. Very strange. In all the years I've been carrying out iPad deployments, I haven't seen or heard of this issue.

When we were using a free Meraki account, we were able to submit questions through their portal by adding a case. With the paid account, phone support was added. Sorry, we don't have the same issue, but a different one.
