Keep network after closes lids

Hi,

I need to be able to connect to my MacBook Pro remotely when I'm at work during the day. I found that the MBP disconnect from the network once the lid gets closed. Energy Saver is already set to never sleep on power adapter. Did I miss any settings?

I have a 2012 MacBook Pro, running OS Sierra 10.12.6.
