Is this apple email fake?
Hi got sent this a few times today! Checked my order history and nothing is listed but I'm still abit worried...
Your Apple ID was just used to download Football Manager Handheld 2014 from the App Store on a computer or device that had not previously been associated with that Apple ID.
Order Number: QWACVW291HD
Order total: 9.35 £
If you initiated this download, you can disregard this email. It was only sent to alert you in case you did not initiate the download yourself.
If you did not initiate this download, we recommend that you go to iTunes Payment Cancellation Form to change your password, then
See Apple ID: Tips for protecting the security of your account for further assistance.
Regards,
Apple
.... The cancellation form is highlighted linked and it looks like apple but it asks for card details so I clicked it off. This happening yo anyone else?
Just re-checked it and realised it's a print screened background to look like legit apple! It's defooo fake! Hope no one gets caught out. I'll report it now
Yes. The key is not to click on any link in that e-mail.
Definately fake if you have included all the e-mail content.
Apple personalise e-mails...i.e. it would start with your name.
Don't open any attachments or complete any forms as that is what they are after...your bank details!!
Send it on to Apple then delete it from your inbox.
Check to see if there actually is a purchase for this app on your account. Open iTunes and login to your account. Click on the Purchased link in the Quick Links column to the right. Click the Apps "tab" then change the button at the right to "All".
If you see that app in the list, then someone actually did purchase that app against your account from another Apple device. If that's the case, change your Apple user ID password immediately!
Another check from iTunes is under the Quick Links area again. Click on Account. Under Puchase History, click See All. If a purchase was made against your account for that app, the title and its price will be listed.
I have also received a similar type of email. it was for ICRSS Pro and for £20.99 (never heard of it). There is an App of that name so i checked my purchase history and nothing of that name was there. looked very real except there "support" link.

i have just received an email saying i purchased that exact product, what did you do about it?
Forward the email to Apple : reportphishing@apple.com , and then delete it.

OK so not being very tech savvy I did go to the cancelation page and enter my details thinking it was strange but it looked legit I did however put the credit limit to $2 in case. but does that now mean I gave someone all my details. What do I do? Cancel the credit card?
Yes, you did indeed give away your credit card details to a crook. Have the card cancelled immediately! That $2 limit won't mean anything to them.
Brilliant - thanks for your reply
Much appreciated, you saved me heaps
Cheers

Have you forwarded the email to Apple via the reportphishing email address above ?
Unless you had gone to the site and entered your account's details you didn't need to change your password
It's clearly a fake email trying to steal your Apple credentials. If you hover your mouse over the Payment Cancellation Form link, it goes nowhere that's owned by Apple. Instead, it's to some HotMail account through breeboyce.com.
That is right, following the Payemnt Cancellation form it goes to my Youtube account.
I have just deleted the fake e-mail, many thanks.
Have a good day.
