Apples known problem of defective iPad Pro keyboard

Why has Apple elected to ignore the known iPad Pro keyboard issue?

"the accessories not supported statement" comes up regularly, not related to dirty pins on the keyboard connection to the iPad Pro.

Recently when attempting to get this known and acknowledged problem addressed at an Apple Store, the manager was quick to throw down the  fact that the keyboard was outside the warranty period. This is not a warranty issue it wouldn't matter if it was in the 11th month for the 13th month, this is an issue with a bad product / software.

I got the same answer.

I have the first model, released in end 2015, the warranty is supposed to be upgraded from 1 to 3 years (according to this article: https://9to5mac.com/2017/05/08/apple-smart-keyboard-ipad-pro-repair-program-stic king-keys-functional-issues/ )

But they're not aware of this warranty change, so they didn't want to help me out with my 225$CAN defective keyboard !
