iOS iMessage Notifications Silenced when Mac is on

Ever since I updated my back to macOS Sierra, I have stopped receiving push notifications to my iPhone or Apple Watch when my Mac is on. The Mac receives push notifications for iMessages and seems to be silencing the other devices. When I look at my iPhone, I see iMessages that have come in that I missed completely.

Are there any settings I can revise so that my iPhone/Watch get the notification even if I'm at my Mac?

This is an issue because I use my Mac at work and have the sound turned off. I am also away from my desk often and during those times, my notifications are silenced.
