iPad randomly loses sound, soft reset restores it

Old iPad mini first gen broke and I bought a brand new iPad 9.7 128 gb.

Turned it on and set it up off backup of my old iPad.

It randomly loses sound overnight/when I'm playing music/during calls.

Soft resetting the iPad works but the issue keeps coming back. I have read through the article that is posted by apple support and tried all their suggestions as well as factory resetting the iPad once, toggling the mute button, and checking if there is a side switch or not (which there is not). The IOS is 10.3.3 which should be the latest one. Please help.

Update: Scrolled through an old forum post, changed the language from English (US) to English (UK) and back. Sound came back without soft resetting. Will see how long this lasts. Just posting in case someone else has this issue.
