Siri can’t add to lists in watchOS 4.

Since installing watchOS 4, whenever I try to add something to a list using Siri on my Series 2 Apple Watch, it says that I don’t have a list by that name, and asks me if I want to create one by continuing on my phone. When I continue on my phone, it just adds the thing I asked it to add, because I did have a list by that name. Is It possible to revert to watchOS 3? I don’t have the patience for them to get around to fixing this bug in some update next year.

Hi

watchOS cannot be downgraded.

The following steps may help:

  • In the Contacts app on your iPhone:
    • Check that there is a single contact card for you and that it contains your Apple ID email address and iPhone number (remove any duplicate contact cards).
  • On your iPhone, go to: Settings > Contacts > My Info - check that your contact card is selected.
  • On your iPhone, go to: Settings > Siri & Search > My Information - check that your contact card is selected.
  • On your iPhone, go to: Settings > Reminders > Default List > check that your preferred default list from the Reminders app is selected.
  • On your iPhone in the Watch app, go to: My Watch (tab) > General > Reset > tap once on Reset Sync Data:
    • You will not see anything happen after tapping it (the process runs in the background, invisibly to you).
    • Allow a minute or so for the process to complete.
  • Restart your iPhone and your watch, turning both off together, then restarting your iPhone first:
