Watch not showing iPhone playlists

I've noticed since I updated the watch to OS4 that the watch only displays the song that is currently playing and won't display my iPhone playlists anymore.

The display (on the watch) comes up with a "add music in the Apple Watch app" which is not what I'm wanting to do. I preferred using the watch as a remote to the iphone.

Has Apple removed this feature or is this an error and this will be back in the next update?

I have the series 1 watch pairing to and iPhone 8.
