Redeemed gift card and iTunes gave me less than...

I redeemed an iTunes gift card worth $10. I already had a little over a $1 in my account. Apparently they only credited me like $3 because now I have like $4. I didn't buy anything, so why did I get less than I was suppose to?

Trying to report a problem here would explain why you think you are experiencing issues with Apple, since they do not participate here.
